With the recent monsoon season, rain and floods follow, including thuderstorms.
EJ's housemates do not like thunderstorms. The smaller female cats are not as frightened as the supposedly macho bigger males.
The biggest male, Tortie, at 7kg, is terrified of thunderstorms. He would squeeze into his favourite hiding spot, a tiny cubicle in the cat condo, with an eye peeping out. And would stay there till the storm is over.

Love the picture! Thunder and fireworks don't seem to faze the gang...never seen them react to it
Nope they don't really like the big bang sound. My kitties also hides.
Aww cute little kitty.
Aw, poor thing! Au was the same but oddly enough our little scaredy cat Target who jumps if you open up a can of beer without giving him notice, is NOT afraid of storms. And that has given Au courage. Our senior cat slept through yesterday's storm without a blink!
We don't have many electrical storms but when we do our cats are a little spooked. My dogs bark.
It is sad when they are so afraid.
Purrs, woofs and hugs

I know my male cat hates Thunderstorms. My female cat just sleeps right through.
Tortie seems to be the same hero as my cat Arthur, lol ! he also disappears when the first thunder rumbles, lol ! Men !
Tortie sounds a lot like Sammy.....whereas Andy is almost fearless!!!!
Most of my cats are pretty good about
thunderstorms except Anakin who I
think was outside in a storm the night before he was found, he's a
bit skittish about loud sounds, and
booms. He usually runs for the basement to hide.
