She Wears a Bib

Bathing and blow-drying Pebble takes two hours. To cut the time down to half, our human clean either Pebble's top half or bottom half.

Cleaning the top half is often as she cannot fully control her limbs while eating and ends up in the dish; at times even toppling over. Our human end up spending more time cleaning Pebble than Pebble eating her food.

Then, our human had a little brain wave, went out, bought the smallest baby bib and made Pebble wear it during feeding time.

It worked to a certain degree and made cleaning up a little easier.

Gravity's Unforgiving Pull

Our human tried for months to take a good picture of Tanya's belly but did not want to wait anymore and went ahead to snap it.

Each time Tanya would turn abruptly and run off.

There were times when she would promptly sit down and stare into emptiness. Our human would then wonder what went through that little brain.

The little red arrow shows her grossly unappealing sagging belly almost touching the floor even when she stands. Worsen by gravity's unforgiving pull, her belly sways from side to side when she walks fast or goes into a little run.

After these photo shots, Tanya quickly plopped down, turned and gave this laser-glare that says 'I am not happy with you!'.

Geriatric Tanya

Tanya, 19 next year, is a geriatric cat.

Two weeks ago, our human noticed Tanya was straining to urine constantly. Her urine had blood stains. So off she went to visit her vet who commented that Tanya's heart is beating strong, subtly hinting that Tanya will have many good years to come.

Forcing medication down two sick cats twice a day (Pebble included) and cleaning after them is making our human very busy and a little tired physically.

Our human does not mind, in fact feeling rather happy, as Tanya is recovering with no bloody urine or straining; and Pebble's condition did not worsen (still wearing diaper pants as she can't walk and totally blind).

Captain Jack's Corner

It was morning.

The morning sun hit the corner where the kitty chairs are. Captain Jack Sparrow HAWK wanted that sun spot.
And true to his name, he kicked the chairs away to immediately claim that sunny corner.

Lazy WorkOut?

Winnie is feeling lazy.

She wants to stretch. And did it like this...this way...

...that way...

...and clean herself at the same time.

It's a three-in-one workout.

Psst, our human is fast catching on to this lazy 'virus'.

Hot Tub Soak

Pebble cannot walk or clean herself though she tried. EJ wipes her down after each meal, pee and poo.

Early this morning, EJ woke up to find Pebble lying in a puddle. Urine leaked through her diaper. It was too much to wipe down.

Water was warmed up and poured into a pail. EJ wiped as much urine off Pebble as possible before putting her in.

EJ was afraid that Pebble would protest when put into the warm water but no, not even a squeak from her. She sat there soaking in the warm water resting her head on the edge of the pail. (Pebble is blind, hence that empty stare.)

She was later towelled off and blown dry. She purred and purred.

Jolting Stare

Our human procrastinated again.

We decided to take action. Winnie, relaxed on the chair, gave such a STARE that jolted our human back to work!

Give Me a Hug!

When EJ hugs or combs Tanya or Winnie, Captain Jack Sparrow HAWK is sure to come and stick his head to EJ.

There are days when Captain Jack gets whiny and demands a big hug like this.
EJ has no choice but to drop everything, carry him and give him a big tight hug.

A Twisted Wreck!

Pebble uses human baby pull up pant diapers. Not wanting to waste those few leftover tape type diapers, EJ decided to let Pebble to finish using them.

It worried EJ when Pebble did not soil (pee and poo) her diaper as usual every morning. Throughout the day EJ checked, the tape diaper was dry but there was a drop of brown stain. Pebble was not as active as normal and did not drink or eat as much. Couldn't take it any more, EJ changed Pebble's diaper back to the pant type in the evening.

And very soon after, her pant diaper was soiled (a lot!).

Pebble must have felt tired from holding it in all day and so relieved to have released it that she slept quite immediately in this awkward position after that.

Is Pebble trying to tell our human that she was a twisted wreck the whole day?

EJ got the message and will not use those tape type diapers on Pebble any more but may use it to soak up whatever mess or spill.

Contagious Procrastination!

We love to laze and nap most of the time.

Our human claims that the inconsistent postings here is because of us and that procrastination is incredibly contagious!

We honestly have our doubts. What do you think?

We love to nap in sync.

Not to be left out, Winnie photobombed.

On the Edge

Our human got nervous on seeing Tanya asleep.

Who wouldn't? Tanya was sleeping, fast asleep, on the edge and could fall off any second.

But our human dared not make any sound to startle her which would cause her to fall down.

With heart in the mouth, our human tiptoed away after snapping these photos (cupping hands round the compact camera to muffle the clicking sounds).

Napping Day

It rained this morning.
Since it isn't as hot, it's perfect to sleep in.

Our human even napped after breakfast.

And now to continue my sleep.

Nosing Ice!

The days are so hot!

Our human brought out some little cubes that looked almost transparent. Inquisitive Captain Jack came to check and suddenly stuck his nose into it.

The old compact digital camera, that had a few seconds delay, could not capture that cold discovery moment but got the 'What ** is this?' look!

Photobombed!

Our human is confused looking at the photo and wondered who photobombed who?

Can't Stop Them? Let Them Enjoy!

Continued from 30 October 2014  Who Done It?

Our human would like to thank all who gave suggestions to solve the wreckage our DIY hemp-wrapped boardwalk and figured that it was too much work for it to be repaired.

It was decided to allow the kitties enjoy wrecking it. The bitten-off hemp rope were not thrown away; it was tied to the kitty hardwood podium in the MeowYard with a knot on top and at the bottom to prevent it from being yanked off. The smaller bits of hemp fibers were collected and accumulated enough to be rolled into a hemp ball for them to chase and whack.

She Is An Incredible Hunk

Sleeping on our human's old T-shirt (on a bed liner and thin cushion) is Pebble after gobbling down a bowlful of tuna.

As you can see her hind legs has atrophied as she could not walk. But few days ago she mustered up enough strength and courage, and tried standing up, rather wobbly before falling down. She also tried eating kibbles on her own from the bowl instead of being syringe-fed.

Eating on her own takes a couple of hours with food strewn all over in the process.

Unable to clean herself, our human had to wipe clean her after each feeding. As Pebble is long-haired, her fur kept getting matted up and had to be combed daily and the matted fur cut off. She still drools.

Our human is happy to see Pebble soldiering on in spite of the odds she is facing.

Indeed Pebble is incredible – an incredible hunk!
