Running an errand, our human eyed a cat flat scratch pad in a store and immediately bought it.
Winnie refused to use the old one and has been scratching all corners of the 'tropical hard wood' podium.
"Hmmm, this new scratch pad looks nice!"
"Not bad! Think I'll start scratching here from now on!"

Yay! Success. Having a good scratchpad is a real plus, and your staff clearly had a good eye for just the right one.
I still do scratch on a small stool we have despite having a post, but Mrs H is going to put a separate cover over that so I don't . . . well, so she hopes! MOL

All of us who have lived here in with Mom love those kind of scratch pads. Mom even buys the double wide ones.
