Under the Jasmine Tree

EJ loves the smell of fresh Jasmine flowers.

The late Cookie used to love to sleep here during every hot afternoons.

On those really hot afternoons, EJ, siblings and mom were extremely envious just watching Cookie sleep.  It felt good and comforting just staring at him in deep slumber there unmoving. In fact, they felt the coolness Cookie was getting and secretly wished either they could make themselves small to crawl in together with Cookie or make that little hut and Jasmine plant big.

With those sweet scent and shade, who wouldn't want to be under the Jasmine Tree?

Below is the Jasmine flower (Jasminum  Sambac) plant EJ planted grown from a cutting of the Jasmine plant Cookie slept under at EJ's Mom's porch. That porch has been renovated and that Jasmine plant removed.

Currently EJ is trying to grow the Jasmine plant again after an invasion of snails destroyed it.

There is nothing like the scent of jasmine. Next time I see you, I'll bring you some citrus enzyme. I've heard that spraying plants with a dilution of it will deter snails & other pests. :-)

I love the smell of jasmine. Good luck with your invasion of snails, I am trying to keep the slugs away from some of my plants.

What a nice place it was ! You also have a snail invasion ??? It's terrible here too ! they eat all plants ! I bought a product which I put all over the garden and then I had over 100 shells !! Because then I stopped counting ! What a plague !

We had to look closely at the first pic to find Cookie! :-)

We can only imagine how lovely the jasmine must smell.

Mom said when she lived in Florida she had a jasimine plant. They smell lovely. I hope your plant thrives and that some way to deter the snails/slugs happens.

Awwwww, that's a perfect nap place for sure! We sure hope EJ gets the Jasmine plant growing again. At our Mumsy's Mom's house is a Snowball plant, a Hi-drain-geia, that she grew from a cutting of one that grew at Mumsy's childhood home. Some things are just always special.

I love the smell of Jasmine used to have it. Something killed it, no doubt the snails or our poor soil.

What a perfect napping place. We hope the Jasmine starts to thrive again.

Oh our Mom loves Jasmine and tried to grow it here but it didn't like our red clay.
That looks like such a great place to nap that Cookie found and I bet it really smelled good there.
Hope you have a wonderful week.

What a nice memory. I still remember the luscious smell of Jasmine on our hikes in Kauai.

It's important for outside kitties to have cool spots in this dreadful heat. Mine sleep under the ceiling fans inside.
