Just like humans, handicapped animals has sharpened and heightened senses to compensate for their loss. For survival, handicapped animals are extraordinary fierce and have extremely fast reflexes and reactions.
Few months ago, EJ was carrying and talking to Captain Jack Sparrow HAWK when suddenly there was a strange whirring sound. Captain Jack vanished from EJ's arms in a flash! EJ listened hard for a few minutes; it sounded like one of the neighbours using a blender.
EJ felt pain...and looked.
This was taken after a few hours when the bottom most scratch has almost subsided. Good thing all Captain Jack's claws were clipped otherwise EJ's forearm would be ripped open in three places!
And no, EJ did not, for how could you scold such a face!

Dear Captain Jack, I'm sure he didn't intend to hurt you. There's no telling what might frighten a cat, and if the human is carrying the cat, this is what happens. All we can do is love them, and keep their claws clipped.

Yeowch! We hope that healed quickly!
When our human is cuddling Derry in her arms, occasionally he becomes startled by something (he's very skittish by nature) and just reacts on instinct to get away. He's not clawed our human that badly, though, but even if he did, it wouldn't be anything to be scolded for, of course. It's the fight or flight reaction we all have!
It will heal soon. EJ is sorry we are sure.

Hey, scary happens when you least expect it!
Poor you, but he would never do that on purpose and yes, with such a sweet face I would melt too !
I feel badly for you both. He didn't do it on purpose and I will tell you that one night..I was asleep snuggled and cuddled into my mommy's neck with my face pointed downward into her arm..toward the wrist. Something startled me and I immediately leapt off the bed and away. Unfortunately my hind claws scratched my mommy's face very badly. She had to get up of course and tend to it right away with antibiotic ointment. Luckily that took care of it until it healed. Very burningly painful though. Mommy knew I never meant to hurt her.
Oh, CJSH got startled and of course didn't mean to hurt you, EJ. And EJ won't have the heart to scold any of the cats.
I get clawed unintentionally a lot too. And my most dependable healer is a bottle of virgin coconut oil. I just applied it immediately after I wash the wound and it heals in 3 days!
Nope, we sure couldn't scold that face. Cats do get really scared at some things. Mine will all be peacefully sleeping and all of sudden the room empties for who knows why. Sorry your arm got hurt and I bet Capn Jack is too.
Maui did the same thing to Mommy's lip; it's a well known fact that monsters lurk everywhere and sometimes a Cat's just gotta RUN!
Awwww beautiful Captain Jack Sparrow Hawk!!! You have a most handsome and lovely face! Awwww me and Charlie are so sorry that EJ's arm got all scratched but you were just trying to escape whatever it was that spooked you!!
big hugs to you and EJ! Take care

Capt Jack we know you did not mean to hurt EJ, and we know she knows this to. But *ouch*

Ouch! But you're right...Captain Jack didn't mean to do that.
Catain Jack, I done that to my mom too ! Tip : when she show whatever you did " pretend you didn't do it and lick it like you say I can fix this for you ; ) " I 've done that every time, and mom can't blame me any more ..tee..hee
xoxo
Poor Captain Jack, I'm sure he is so sorry now when he looks at your poor arm but he had to go with his instinct at the time.
Oh dear, blame the neighbours noisy equipment. Rappy, Jet and Calli don't like noise either, our house is so quiet and peaceful, a strange noise always spooks them.
Nope ~ that sweet little face would for sure get no scolding from me either. Kitties just do what come naturally when they get scared. And scratches will heal. Hopefully soon! :)

Yikes, that sure looks painful! But we, too, know that Captain Jack didn't mean to do that.
Hope it heals soon!
Of course no punishment! It's a cats natural instinct. Believe me I know for I have suffered many scratches. The worse were two giant ones on my face.
Captain Jack Sparrow really does have the sweetest face. I could never be angry with him or any other cat really.
It looks so painful. Since I don't live with cats, I can't imagine what happened when I looked at the picture first. Now, I know. I'll say "Take care." to both.
Ohh... We hope that healed quickly!
This is not done ... very ugly ... who gives love and affection does not deserve to be treated like this .. .. aiaiaiai to misbehave .. your ugly!

Poor EJ! And poor Jack for being scared! Our mom often has scratches on her - Zoe tends to freak out over nothing (that we can tell), and if she's sitting on our beside our mom, there will be blood! hahaha
Hope it heals soon...tc
I agree
We're sure handsome Captain Jack didn't mean to hurt sweet EJ; we hope you heal quickly!...Have a fun weekend, lovely friends...xoxo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Oops, that was a furry sad moment for both of you. I bet he didn't mean it. That looks SAYS he didn't mean it :-)
Ouch, ouch - it looks so sore. Poor CJS - a cat's got to do what a cat's got to do when panic sets in.
Owch, I felt that!
That must have hurt but you are right how can one scold such a cute and innocent looking and forgiveness seeking face...
Have a nice day:)
Running away is a great defense - we all use it too. Sorry EJ got clawed in the process. Thanks for coming to our party!
We agree ~ such a sweet face should NEBER be scolded! Tee hee!
