Yesterday was the scheduled day for Tanya's stitches to be removed.
As soon as Tanya was placed in the cage and strapped down with the safety belt to prevent the cage from sliding, Tanya started to howl.
During the journey, she showed signs of stress, started panting and drooling. Her two long drools stretched unbroken from her mouth to her feet and she was sitting up.
Rain started in mid-journey and soon became a torrential storm. Tanya continued yowling.
With decreased visibility and that home-made onboard sign up, EJ drove slowly.
There were stretches on the road where even motorbikes overtook EJ but EJ was not concerned as safety on a wet road is more important than showing off. EJ just kept at that tortoise pace on the slow lane.
On reaching the clinic, EJ was delighted that the heavy rain became a light drizzle and right in front of the clinic was an empty parking lot. It was good timing.
After Tanya had the stitches removed, heavy rain started again.
While waiting for the rain to ease, EJ had biscuits and a hot drink with compliments from the friendly vets and staff in the clinic.
Miraculously, Tanya slept quietly during the long drive home though traffic was a little heavy as it was still drizzling.
Last night Tanya still had her 'bonnet' on to prevent her from licking the antiseptics sprayed on the stitches' wounds.
The 'bonnet' came off this morning. Tanya is now sleeping on EJ's Mickey Mouse shorts, obviously tired from yesterday's ordeal.
And she snored too.

My mom and me are so happy with Tanya
Tanya might made a lot of drama while EJ was driving to the VET but look at her now , sleep on EJ's short...like she want to say " Thank you mommy to be patient with me and I love you mommy ! "
I do that to my mom and my dad too but in the morning one of them will be upset because I can sleep on only one cloth at a time : )
We are so pleased to read that Tanya is better!
We love the short too, looks comfy after a long, tiring day!
{{hugs}} to EJ!
Poor sweet Tanya! So glad that whole ordeal is over with. Now there will be lots of catching up on snoozing to do! :)

Oh, I'm glad it went well. I was worried about both of you. Dear Tanya, she now looks so wonderful with her stitches out and her bonnet off! I hope the stressful day wasn't too much for you, EJ.

She will be on the road to recovery now!

I cry all the way when Mom puts me in the car to go to the Vet. But I am as quiet as a mouse when we come home. I guess I am always worried that I am being taken someplace new and never coming back to my home.

Everytime you go to the vet it pours! Please warn me when you plan your next visit :-) glad Tanya is OK
such a beauty ..I had no stitches out but yowl anyhow I am losing Evie age 22 - infections all the time- bad ones.
We both cry when we are in the car going to the torturer's place. Mum sings to us in the hope it makes us feel better - we just cry even louder - isn't the car journey enough punishment without her screechings!!
We are so pleased you are relaxed now having got your ordeal over with Tanya.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Glad the stitches are out! My friend Pusskins had his stitches out yesterday after having his leg amputated last week - he's scooting around like a mad thing! :O)
Woof! Keeper was with me but she ran off crying in joy that Tanya is OK! I tell you, Keeper has gone mad!
Now Tanya can do ballet and yoga...outside of napping!

We're so glad to see Tanya's ordeal at the vet is over and she is truly on the mend; that beautiful girl looks very tired after yesterday's stressful return to the vet=happy dreams, lovely Tanya...We are trying to catch up with our wonderful friends on the weekends; our Mommy's new job, along with her part time one, makes it difficult to visit during the week now...We hope you all enjoy a fun weekend together, sweet friends...kisses...Calle, Halle, Sukki
Sounds like a very stressful trip for both Tanya and EJ. Glad it worked out.
It's interesting how cats seem to know which direction they are headed on trips. Luna is extremely stressed in the car - but on the way from home somewhere else, she cries the entire way, while on the way home, she is quiet, sometimes even rests.
Oh my oh my ! poor you driving with an opera singing cat in the rain, that's out of a horror movie ! Fortunately now she can snore peacefully without her royal collar !
