After year's end monsoon rain, weather gets hotter with less rainfall.
It has been scorchingly hot the last few weeks.
The sweltering heat got to EJ. Rather than blogging last week, EJ preferred to laze under the fan at fullblast.
Wearing permanent fur coats the cats feel the heat more and to make them more comfortable, EJ constantly wet-mop the MeowYard and MeowRoom to try to make it cooler. When the floors are damp, the cats would lie flat fully stretched. As it dries out and get warmer, to beat the heat, they seek out cooler spots. Their favourite is their tiled toilet.
Here's Tanya hogging it with Winnie and Captain Jack Sparrow HAWK undecided whether to cramp in with her.
They look comfortable on the tile. Our heat hasn't arrived yet but it won't be long. I'm already starting to bush the kitties more often to thin the undercoat. Last year I put a mist sprayer on the patio for the outside guys.

We should be in beginning spring here, but It has still been snowing yesterday ! We like to lie in the bathroom when it's hot too. Loupi and Zorro

And here it's the opposite ! they all try to sleep on the radiators ! Can't we mix our weather ???

Sorry to hear it is so hot there. That tile is probably the coolest spot there is. What a good idea to wet it down. Hope it cools off soon for you. Take care.

Tanya, I'm sure, is feeling pretty good about herself. I wonder if the other two ventured in there with her. This is such a cute picture. I love how Jack and Winnie are looking at the camera. I hope you all are able to keep cool.

ReplyDeleteOh my oh MY! Yes I have thought about kitties in their furcoats and the heat outside AND inside if they don't have air conditioning. How hard that must be. But good their MeowRoom and MeowYard has damp floors.

ReplyDeleteWe don't have much heat here yet, because Spring is just beginning to arrive in Alberta, but we have very hot summers.
ReplyDeleteLindy says she likes to be in the kitchen in hot weather, in front of the refrigerator, because cool air comes out when people open it, and sometimes little bits of ice get dropped on her.

ReplyDeleteIn Minnesota the cats get into the damp tub because it is still warm from the bath water. But things are finally heating up here. Maybe 60ish today.
