Little Meow Place (Part II) — The Mouse Hole

EJ felt the renovations was well worth it despite the many incoveniences, missed lunches and constant cleaning.

The cats had to be caged up for at least eight hours for the making of the 'mouse hole'.

It was hard work drilling through the wall.

By the time the cement at and around the 'mouse hole' dried, it was evening. When the workers finished for the day and left, the cats were let out. These were their responses.

See how Kenggy's body reacted looking through the 'mouse hole'. Note the floor tiles are of different sizes and colours. In the background are the beautiful hand-drawn tiles. The trays near the wall are the cats' extra toilet for just in case a few of them need to go.

Kenggy testing out the 'mouse hole'...

...and here is her certified approval!

Perhaps the 'mouse hole' should be renamed as 'Meow Hole'! What do you think?

PS:  EJ would like to thank Linda (EJ's classmate since primary days) for those lovely tiles; Susan Chan (EJ's mom's neighbour) for the tiles; EJ's mom for the tiles; Tony and Sally for the work well done. The kitties meowed their thanks.

The meow toilet continues here.

  1. This is great! This was a lot of work but clearly so worth it. I love all the kitties' responses. I like Tortie collecting toll. The best, of course, is Kenggy's stumps of approval. LOL! The tiles are so lovely. Looks like the Mouse Hole or Meow Hole is a complete success!

  2. It's wonderful, and obviously it was a community effort. Aren't friends great? Almost as great as cats? Maybe. ;~) I like "mouse hole" - it sounds so perfect for a roomful of cats.

  6. I laughed so hard at the Toll Collector that I nearly choked on my coffee! :-)

Your cats must spend all their waking hours offering prayers of thanks for their good fortune. My cat, in fact, prays that she can move to your house! LOL.

  7. You are a wonderful person to do this for your cats and I think your efforts are appreciated by all. The pictures are great but you set a very high standard for the rest of us cat lovers to follow. All cats will be demanding such holes and the sound of drilling and sawing will be heard around the world.

  10. Thank you all for your comments and encouragements as well as allowing me to share my joy and happiness including funny moments with my cats.

Boom: Please let Puddy know that this Meow Hole renovation was done 2 years ago and I am now slowly trying to make it better myself.

Lupie: The Meow Hole was done specifically for Kenggy to move from Meow Room to Meow Yard and vice versa.

  25. This is so cool! I'm clearly late to the party but is the mouse hole how they get from inside to outside or is it just a way to get from one enclosed room to another. Whatever the case I love it and clearly the cats do it!
