Wishing For Cooler Days and Cleaner Air

Several hot spots in the neighbouring country has resulted in haze at our place. The present extremely hot weather without rain worsened the situation.

The MeowYard is being either washed or wet-mopped several times a day in an effort to cool the area and sometimes EJ hand-sprays water mist in the air.

The kitties will all then lie down fully stretched on the damp tiles to cool off.

Air in the MeowYard is cleaner than the rest of the house as there are several hanging pots of green.

To help clean air in the house as well, EJ has begun transferring in smaller pots of green plants from the porch.

Winnie here mulls and dreams of cooler days and clean air when the year's end monsoon comes which at times brings flashfloods, uprooted trees and massive traffic jams.

We wish we could send you some of our rain -- we've had more than enough, and in another province in Canada they've had so much rain that the flooded areas are disaster areas.

Sending purrs you'll all manage to get through this -- we can't even imagine what it would be like, especially for anyone with asthma or other breathing conditions. :-(

Oh dear, you have my full sympathy. Here in Mumbai it was like that till last week and now the monsoon has broken and it is blessed relief - though of course, now there's the damp.... You are all so lucky to have EJ and we are lucky to have The Chair to tell us all about it!

Hugs and snuggles all round, YAM-aunty xx

We've had an unseasonable amount of rain in Alberta, resulting in flooding in some areas, especially around Calgary, but when the water from the flood-swollen rivers feed into the South Saskatchewan, our corner of Alberta will be having floods, too.
Fortunately, we aren't down in the river valley, but many people are. Pets have been boarded out for days awaiting the high point of the floodwaters, while their owners camp with friends.
The Trans Canada Highway crosses the river a few miles southeast of here, and it will be closed this evening.
Monsoons of a sort, I guess you could say.
Hugs to the cats.

The things we must do for our cats. I had the heating on all day yesterday for Charlotte because the weather was cold and rainy. Now I have a headache from the heating and must take a brisk walk outdoors. I hope cooler days with fresher air comes for you and your cats soon.

In my mom's country, They have an old Festivals of praying for rain. And they used Female Cat !!!
Mom never seen this festival but she used to hear about it. A selected beautiful female cat is put into a thinly woven bamboo basket and paraded round the village by colourfully dressed revelers. From each household water is thrown on the cat to make the cat angry and songs are sung to the rain gods.
( Only female kitty can boss around the god, I'm safe...MOL )
Pretty awful for us but some people does believe it. I think should use dog instead. They love bath ; )
